We’d always wanted to get married at a vineyard, but not a rustic-looking one. When we saw Abel Estate we fell in love – it had everything.
Abel Estate was the first venue we came to view, and we decided not to look further, as everything looked perfect – a beautiful location with a lake and vineyard.
Weather-proof Weddings
Welcome to the wonderful new marquee option at Abel Estate for when the weather turns bad or to escape the intense heat of Summer. Situated under poplar trees next to the front vines, it can add to the feel of a vineyard wedding
At 12m by 8m the marquee has plenty of room for 100 seated guests, and is the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony.
The marquee has a white roof lined with white satin draping and transparent sides that can be pulled open if you need a cooling breeze in Summer
For smaller parties you can also utilise the dance floor area next to the main Winery Room.
You’ll Love Every Bite
One of the things guests most often remark on is the quality of the food. They won’t be disappointed at Abel Estate. Our contemporary Kiwi cuisine includes plenty of favourites, all with a gourmet twist. Plated, buffet and family-style dining are available, with premium options for couples who are foodies or want the wow factor with the likes of oysters and champagne, caviar and duck at their Auckland weddings.
Most menus come with a 7-hour package of beer and wine, including prosecco, and craft beer on tap. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Wedding Accommodation For 2-10
Whether you want a romantic suite all to yourself, want to provide accommodation for the whole wedding party, or have overseas guests who need a room for the night, there’s a solution just 12 minutes drive from Abel Estate along back roads.
Chapman House, at 1010 Scenic Drive North, Swanson, has a commanding view over West Auckland toward the city. It accommodates up to 10 people in a premium homestay with modern, refurbished kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large lounge-dining area that opens on to a spacious deck.
Bookings are managed directly through the property’s own website on a first come, first served basis – so it’s advisable to get in early to secure the dates you’re looking for.
